šš» During the training, participants gained both theoretical knowledge and practical skills on how to provide young people with psycho-emotional, motivational and compassionate support in various life situations.
š” It gives us great pleasure to see people who are ready to get involved, learn and be there for young people at times when it matters most. A mentor is not just someone who gives advice ā a mentor is a presence, a source of trust and a reassuring sense that the young person is not alone. Very soon, the new mentors will begin their work in the Bauska and Salaspils districts, strengthening support for young people where it is needed most.
š¤š» Thank you to everyone who responded and placed their trust in the āLaiks JaunieÅ”iemā associationās mentor training programme. As an organisation, we are delighted that active, open-minded and enthusiastic people are joining our team ā people who, through their experience, attitude and humanity, are ready to help young people grow, become stronger and believe in themselves.
ā¤ļø Special thanks also go to the State Probation Service for taking part in the training, for the opportunity to tell us more about the opportunities offered by the service, and for our collaboration within the Mentor Network. Such inter-institutional cooperation is vital to ensuring that young people receive timely, understandable and compassionate support. Because we must all remember ā young people are not just the future; young people are our present.
āThe project was implemented with funding from the state budget under the Ministry of Education and Scienceās National Youth Policy Programme for 2025ā2027ā.
