Almost 150,000 views for election content created by young people!

On 3 October, more than 20 young people from the "Laiks Jauniešiem" team worked at and around polling stations in Bauska Municipality. From 8.00 am, we observed the election process, surveyed voters, created videos and reported on the latest developments. After the polling stations closed, we continued watching the vote count and waited for the results.

For the final exit poll, we collected the responses of 583 voters outside 12 polling stations. Comparing the published poll percentages with the percentages from the Central Election Commission, the average absolute difference across the 14 lists was 1.20 percentage points. The calculation should take into account that 77 respondents did not disclose their choice, so the bases for the poll and Central Election Commission percentages differ.

In the evening, we continued with the "Election Night 2026" livestream on Facebook and YouTube. It lasted 9 hours and 40 minutes, with more than 20 guests taking part. We discussed election day, opportunities for young people and expectations of the next Saeima, while following the results. Even at 4.40 am, 190 viewers were still watching the livestream!

The election materials we compiled have received a total of 148,478 views and more than 10,000 social media engagements. This is a major achievement for our team. We are certain that some people watched the livestream together with family or friends, and platform counters do not record these viewers separately.

Thank you to the young people for working throughout the day and night, to the guests for taking part, and to the viewers for their comments, shares and positive feedback. It is important to us that content created by young people generates such great interest.

We carried out these activities as part of the Erasmus+ participation project "LAWAvailable 5.0". We will continue involving young people and entrusting them with responsible tasks. Such opportunities should be offered already in primary school, so that young people can try things for themselves, ask questions, learn and participate.

Our young people celebrate elections too – we come together, discuss things and wait for the results. It is an important day for Latvia, and we are proud that our team takes an active part in it. Together, we congratulate the "United List" on its convincing victory in the 15th Saeima elections! We wish you responsible work so that Latvia can continue developing as a European, democratic country where young people are listened to and involved in decision-making.

Young people are our PRESENT!
