The Family Day event, ‘Creative Together – Strong Together!’, in Bauska will feature more than 40 activity tents and a varied programme of stage performances.

🙌🏻 On Sunday, 16 August, from 12.00 to 20.45, Family Day, themed ‘Creative together – strong together!’, will take place in Bauska Town Square. The event will bring together, all in one place, more than 40 tents offering practical and creative activities, demonstrations by the emergency services, discussions for families, large-scale games and concerts. Admission to the Family Day event is free. The event is organised by the association “Laiks Jauniešiem” in collaboration with Bauska District Council.

🔵 More than 40 activity tents – from 12.00 to 17.00:

💛 Visitors will be welcomed by the State Fire and Rescue Service, the Emergency Medical Service, the State Police, the State Border Guard, the National Armed Forces, the Latvian Safer Internet Centre, the Bauska community centre “Pasta5”, EuroPeers, the State Probation Service, the Child Protection Centre, the Youth Guard Centre, Piedzīvojuma Gars, Municipal Police, “Māja” Club, Wings of Hope, State Revenue Service, Youth for a Smile, The World Belongs to Us, State Employment Agency, Europass, Outside the Bubble, “Trepes” Creative Association for Young People, Bauska Children and Youth Centre, Bauska Prātnieks, Youth Mentors, Visit Bauska, Bauska District Social Services, Bauska Hospital, Latvian SOS Children’s Villages Association.

✍️ 🏻 By visiting the tents and completing the activity tasks, participants will be able to collect stamps and receive free popcorn or candyfloss. Tastings and activities will also be provided by the companies AS “Balticovo”, SIA “Stelpes Minerālūdens” and SIA “Lavazza Baltics”. The programme will be complemented by a talk entitled ‘Emotional Support and Building Relationships within the Family’, which will focus on mutual communication, building trust and strengthening family relationships in everyday life.

🔵 More than just entertainment – a practical and useful day for families:

🥰 The aim of Family Day is to combine family leisure time with practical, useful content, all in one place. Whilst children, young people, parents and grandparents take part together in games, workshops and various challenges, they will have the opportunity to meet representatives from national and local government bodies, services and non-governmental organisations in a relaxed atmosphere.

😏 Visitors will be able to ask questions and receive information on safety, health, emotional wellbeing, education, employment, opportunities for young people and the support available to families. Such a gathering outside the usual institutional setting helps to make complex issues easier to understand, whilst making the necessary information and support more accessible.

✨️ That is why Family Day will be about more than just concerts and entertainment. It will be an opportunity for families to spend quality time together, gain knowledge they can use in their daily lives, and get to know the people and organisations that can provide help if needed.

🔵 Stage programme – from the opening ceremony to the evening concerts:

😇 The Family Day stage programme is scheduled to run from the opening of the event right through to the musical highlight of the evening. The programme will begin at 12.00 with performances by young singers, pop groups, dance troupes and other performers. At 2.05 pm, families will be entertained by Cūkmens, the defender of the pristine forest, whilst at 4.10 pm, country music performer Shota Adamashvilli will take to the stage.

🧩 A special highlight of the day will be the ‘Well of Happiness’, which begins at 5.00 pm. Visitors who have taken part in the tasks at the activity tents during the day and collected stamps will be able to try their luck there. At the ‘Well of Luck’, there will be a chance to win prizes provided by the event’s sponsors and local businesses – so it’s worth arriving early, taking part in the activities and collecting stamps from 12.00 onwards.

🤗 Following the ‘Well of Happiness’, Town Hall Square will come alive with evening concerts. At 5.30 pm, Miks Dukurs will perform in a special acoustic concert; at 6.40 pm, RIGA REGGAE will create an acoustic and summery, energetic atmosphere, whilst at 7.50 pm, SBBAND (Sabīne Berezina and her band) will provide a powerful finale to the evening. The event will end at 8.45 pm.

🔵 Changes to traffic arrangements in Bauska on 16 August:

⛔️ To ensure the safe running of Family Day, the setting up of the event area and the smooth movement of visitors, traffic and parking restrictions will be in place around Bauska Town Square on 16 August.

● From 00.00 to 21.00, parking will be prohibited in Town Hall Square, on Pasta Street and on the section of Riga Street up to Saules Street.

● From 08.30 to 21.00, Pasta Street and the section of Rīgas Street up to Saules Street will be completely closed to traffic.
