For a long time, we, the Young People Society, had hoped that once the organization will have a bus (8+1 places), which will provide support for the transportation of both youth and activity materials from point to point in point in point in point in point in point, but at that point we did not even think that this was possible less than a year. Often we encountered situations where we needed to ask for the support of a friend, a family, to get young people and materials for activities, thereby regularly damaging our private cars and often not being able to use all the resources available in our daily work.
It all started in 2024. In the summer of 1998 - just before Līgo, when the head of the organization Gints went to the football club RFS game joked about making Līgo/Jian bouquets, exchanging them for donations. At that moment, the organization's activists, who were in the car, perceived it as a potentially another interesting adventure in the organization of the Youth Time. There was no long time to wait, after winning 3:1 against the FK AUDA team, we already agreed the next day to jump into this adventure and go to the vast fields of Bauska region - forests and collect the beauty of nature to create Līgo/Jānis pusks. For several hours, when collecting the beauty of nature, we went home to Evita - Islīce parish, where, under the leadership of our coordinator of activities, we took the basic skills of making beautiful bouquets, but the next day we went to Riga - Pārdaugava, where we changed the bouquets for donations. The amount was not overall large, but it was a strong beginning (movement) to achieve a dream.
In the period between summer and winter, we provided various daily services - photography, teaching, which also slowly helped to reach the dream. During the team meeting approaching the Winter Period, the leader - Gints mentioned the idea that in the future at every festival, we can create various handicrafts - ideas to move closer to our dream (busy purchase) and offered the team to start creating Advent crowns against donations. At the very beginning, however, this idea did not receive a single answer to you - DARAM, but after longer reflections and persuasion, it was supported. The beginning was really difficult and we went to Riga and social networks to buy Advent's crowns against donations, but the responsiveness wasn't so great, but we wouldn't have been if we didn't get a way out of the poetry and started creating a live stream, where very fast Advent's crowns were purchased and sold together in a short time in all ways against donations 95 Advent's crowns, which amounted to three times more than the League's festive campaign.
😊 2025. In the beginning of 2005, we continued our economic activity by providing training that provided support for the purchase of the total cost of the bus in 2025. Annual In April, when we purchased OPEL VIVARO bus (8+1 places) for 6 600 EUR - from a private person in Ventspils, which has already provided very significant support, leaving Daugavpils, Kaunas and Liepaja within one and a half weeks.
With this story we want to inspire everyone, that there are no rights that you can't reach, set your goal and, together with the team, move towards results. This year's Ligo and Christmas campaign will be devoted to maintenance costs, glue, as well as youth activities in Rural regions, because the countryside is an important part and the regions must be strengthened!
