When becoming a national youth organisation, we had the opportunity to apply for a project contest: Support for youth o funding of two years of national and international youth policy, each with a funding of EUR 57 000. We are delighted to announce that after a successful project application we have received project application approval!
The aim of the project is to promote young people's involvement in volunteering, develop high quality and inclusive volunteering opportunities, promote participation opportunities for young people, including young people with reduced opportunities, by offering various informal activities throughout Latvia, in cooperation with educational institutions, municipalities, state institutions and other organisations. Promote young people's involvement in the political process by enabling them to engage in various participatory activities and by ensuring dialogue with decision-makers. Strengthen the skills involved in youth work to work with young people with fewer opportunities, as well as support youth workers in acquiring new skills and in their daily activities.
The target group of the project: young people aged between 13 and 25 in Latvia, with a special focus on young people with limited opportunities and young people who have not been active in non-governmental organisations, as well as youth workers working with young people with limited opportunities, association Time for young people and society as a whole to promote a wider understanding of youth issues, support for young people with limited opportunities and civic participation.
The main activities of the project are: mentor training and supervisions to build the capacity of youth workers and strengthen the capacity to work with young people with limited opportunities, the creation of a memorandum of cooperation with political parties, thus strengthening the importance of youth involvement in decision-making process and promoting young people's links with decision-makers, multi-faceted volunteering activities and opportunities, including the improvement of the voluntary work platform, the organisation of debates with members of the Saeima, regular informal groups for youth skills development and development, international participation promotion activities for young people, as well as capacity building activities of organisations and members.
Project results, planned impact and sustainability: sustainability will be ensured by developing a network of mentors, regularly updating the volunteering platform and strengthening cooperation with partners. The positive impact of the project will be promoted in the media to raise public awareness and mobilise resources for future activities. The project will promote meaningful participation of young people in various activities, which will provide young people with the opportunity to promote their personal and professional development, as well as ensure the ability of youth workers to provide support to young people with limited opportunities.

The project is implemented by the Ministry of Education and Science Youth Policy National Programme 2025-2027. For the year 2007 the financing of the state budget is part of the budget.
