Cultural Orientation Day for Ukrainian children and young people. This time, we spent a full day of sessions, tailoring the content to suit both children and young people – so that everything was understandable, interesting and genuinely useful for everyday life.

December 27, 2025

šŸ˜ āœØļø šŸ“Œ The day was divided into three full sessions (with a clear focus, but in a friendly, informal atmosphere):

šŸ”µ In the morning, we talked about Latvia – its history, culture, values and everyday situations where an understanding of culture and mutual respect are helpful.

šŸ”µ This included both presentations and discussions, as well as creating posters so that everyone could put their understanding and perspective down on paper.

šŸ”µ In the middle of the day, we turned our attention to practical topics covering both education and key aspects of personal development.

āœ…ļø We watched videos, worked through examples and discussed how to navigate various life situations.

šŸ’Æ In the afternoon, we focused on future opportunities and participation: involvement in local community activities, leadership and collaboration skills

šŸ™ŒšŸ» Presentations, practical tasks and discussions proved useful here – especially for young people, for whom it is important to understand what to do next and how to go about it.

ā˜€ļø What we liked most of all was the participants’ engagement! Posters, questions, discussions and sharing experiences helped us not just to ā€˜listen’, but to truly understand and consolidate our knowledge. All of this promotes language use, cultural understanding and a greater sense of belonging within the community.

The event is financially supported by the Society Integration Fund from funds allocated from the Latvian state budget.
