From an idea to a well-thought-out project! On 23 October, we held the first Presidents’ Club of this semester at Startup House Riga, dedicated to the theme “Implementing Initiatives and Presenting Projects”. The event, jointly organised by the Riga Student Council and the association “Laiks Jauniešiem”, brought together student council representatives to share experiences, make new connections and expand their knowledge to help bring their ideas to life.
Iļja Polis and Fricis Tenters shared their experiences as student council leaders, offering an insight into the work of student councils. Meetings like these provide an opportunity to look at the work of your own student council from a different perspective, learn from other schools’ experiences and find like-minded people for future collaboration.
Meanwhile, during the project planning session led by Līga Siliņa, we focused on the foundations of a project: its need, objective, activities, resources and funding opportunities. Participants also had the opportunity to put their newly acquired knowledge into practice by thinking about how to implement their own ideas. Thank you to the Riga Student Council for the collaboration, to the speakers who shared their experiences and to the session leader for sharing her knowledge—and to the young people for their engagement and willingness to take action!
