As 2025 draws to a close, the “Laiks Jauniešiem” association is sharing the key highlights of the annual report for the national programme project “Laiks Jauniešiem 1.0”.

📌 🎯 Target group: In 2025, young people aged 13–17 were the most actively involved. The most common social barriers we encountered (social exclusion, difficulties socialising, risky behaviour, complex family circumstances), as well as economic and geographical challenges (financial constraints, distance, transport). We also reached young people with learning difficulties/NEETs and those facing cultural or language barriers.

💯 Key activities: the most significant support came from regular informal groups and voluntary work, where young people developed communication, collaboration and social skills. Many also got involved in organising events (including FC RFS matches) and gradually took on more responsibility – moving from simply participating to planning and coordinating alongside youth workers.

✅️ Results and sustainability: a stable core of active young people was established – the young people became co-creators and regularly carried out their own initiatives with our support. Attendance at the youth centres in Bauska and Riga increased; partnerships and public trust were strengthened, as were the organisation’s capacity and ability to continue the work begun with the involvement of mentors, youth workers and volunteers.

😍 We will continue our work on this project in 2026 as well – we will carry out activities, support youth initiatives and strengthen the volunteering movement, so that young people have even more opportunities to grow, take action and make a difference in their communities!
