The “Senior School” project has started!
We have completed the first two sessions, taking our first steps towards using digital technologies more safely and confidently in everyday life. In the first session, “Using Smartphones: The Basics”, participants learned about the fundamentals of using a smartphone, while in the second session, “Contacts, Calls and Text Messages”, we focused on one of the phone’s most important functions: communicating with family, friends and others.
For us, the “Senior School” is also a story about community and intergenerational dialogue. Although “Laiks Jauniešiem” is a youth organisation, our work is not limited to young people—we believe it is important to strengthen the community, promote understanding between different generations and create opportunities for people to learn from one another. During this project, we also want to actively promote intergenerational cooperation, while helping seniors develop practical skills that enable them to feel safer and more independent in the digital environment in their everyday lives.
These first sessions are just the beginning. Step by step, we will continue learning new skills, trying them out in practice, asking questions and learning at a pace that suits us. We are delighted by the participants’ interest and involvement, and invite you to follow the news from the “Laiks Jauniešiem” association so that we can see together how the “Senior School” journey continues!
