In Riga, at the ā€œFantadromsā€ event venue, the closing conference of the Agency for International Youth Programmes’ project ā€œDevelopment of a Digital Youth Work System in Local Authoritiesā€ took place, bringing together representatives from the youth sector from across Latvia.

June 5, 2026

šŸ™ŒšŸ» We are delighted and proud that, during the project, the association ā€œLaiks JaunieÅ”iemā€ was also able to make its own contribution to the development of digital youth work in local authorities. As part of the project, we ran training sessions in Jelgava for youth workers and young people on volunteering; in Olaine Municipality, we were involved in the creation and implementation of a volunteering system; whilst in Mārupe Municipality we organised activities for young people in various neighbourhoods on digital tools and their practical application in everyday life.

āœØļø At the closing conference, Gints Jankovskis, head of the association ā€œLaiks JaunieÅ”iemā€, shared our organisation’s experience of working with young people – on how to engage, engage and sustain young people’s interest, how to establish targeted communication, and how to work with young people who face various barriers and do not always take the first step towards participation themselves.

šŸ’ŖšŸ» It is important to us that digital youth work is not just about tools and platforms, but also about meaningful youth engagement, accessibility, trust and opportunities to be heard even outside their usual environment.

ā¤ļø Thank you to JSPA for the opportunity to be part of this important process and, together with local authorities, youth workers and sector professionals, to strengthen the development of digital youth work in Latvia!
