A visit from the Saeima!

In February, Gints, head of the association "Jaunāmiņi" together with project manager Elīza and head of administration Katrina, went to the Saeima of the Republic of Latvia to continue negotiations with decision-makers at national level. This time the meeting took place with Oleg Burov, Chairman of the Saeima's State Administration and Local Government Commission. We discussed our activities in Bauska region and Riga, presented our vision of support for young people at social risk and their integration into society. We discussed the support mechanisms for Ukraine issues and how we could increase support for Ukrainians living in Latvia. A special role in this could be played directly by the Society's Youth Mental Network - YOUNG PEOPLE, which could provide support for the young in rehabilitation. During the conversation, we informed Mr Burova about the nearest and future projects of the association "Joining Youth" and invited him to participate in the realization of our project "LAWAvailable 2.0" as one of several decision-makers, pointing to his potential valuable contribution as Head of the Commission of the State Administration and Local Government. We will organise a variety of discussions with decision-makers at local, national and European level to promote participation of young people. Next week, we will continue to meet with representatives of various political forces to prepare for the ERASMUS+ participation project's submission of 2.0. We also call on other political parties to engage in discussions and strengthen support for the youth field.
