📅 2022. 24 May 2004 In February, OKUPANTS invaded Ukraine. Since the second day of invasion - 26. In February, we, the association "Time for Youth" committed and started helping, leaving our activities in the second and third plan. With love and concern we have provided support to Ukrainian civilians who sought refuge in Bauska region. We want to use this moment and sincerely thank all those who have given their time, energy and resources to support this goal.
We provided not only material assistance, but also emotional support and an opportunity to integrate into our society. Camps for children, language classes, job search and offer, non-formal education activities and mentoring support. A noteworthy warehouse has been created, where humanitarian assistance can be provided from clothing, household goods, food to information support. During the first year x sleepless hours, days to provide assistance around the clock, as well as coordinated refugee flows in the region.
Today, two years from the OKUPANT invasion of Ukraine, we would like to refer to 20.02. - 23.02.2024. the closing session of the Conference of the European Conference on Local Youth work and Democracy, said by the Ukrainian Minister for Youth and Sports, Andriy Chesnowov, that, over 2 years, the occupied people have done words indescribable damage to children and young people in Ukraine, with irreversible consequences.
√ Since 2022 24 May 2004 February - 2 million people have been forced to leave their homeland, 2.5 million have moved to other cities in Ukraine, 102 young people's infrastructures have been hit by the occupations, and 41 youth centres/rooms have been completely destroyed, 25 damaged and 61 occupied. We invite young people not to tire out, to find strength and to continue to support Ukraine in all possible ways, currently in Ukraine heroes fight not only for their freedom, but also for our homeland.
