The Senior School “Active and Informed” has begun in Bauska Municipality!
The association “Laiks Jauniešiem” has launched the Senior School “Active and Informed” project, giving seniors aged 65 and over the opportunity to take part regularly in free, practical sessions that are useful in everyday life. The Senior School will be a place not only to gain new knowledge and skills, but also to meet, chat, share experiences and get more actively involved.
We are starting with digital literacy sessions! From 5 October to 9 November, sessions will take place every Monday at two locations: at 9.30 am at Skolas Street 2, Anckaiši, and at 1.00 pm at SAC “Derpele”, Elektriķi, Code Parish. Together, step by step, we will learn how to use a smartphone, communicate online, search for information, use e-services, stay safe online and recognise attempted scams. You do not need to be a technology expert – the sessions are also suitable for beginners, and we will learn at a calm and easy-to-understand pace.
All seniors aged 65 and over are welcome to apply – even if you are not a member of the particular institution or senior group. The Senior School activities will continue throughout the project, and in the coming months sessions are also planned at Bauska Central Library and in the association “Laiks Jauniešiem” premises at Slimnīcas Street 9, Bauska. The programme will include not only digital skills, but also activities focused on social participation and an active lifestyle, creativity and culture, as well as lifelong learning and intellectual development.

The activities of the Senior School “Active and Informed” are implemented as part of Project No. 4.3.3.3/1/24/I/001 “Support for Social Entrepreneurship”, under the supported activity “Support for Senior Schools”, administered by the Society Integration Foundation as a cooperation partner of the Ministry of Welfare."
