MORE WAS ACHIEVED IN SEPTEMBER THAN CAN FIT INTO A SINGLE HEADLINE!

CONFERENCES AND PRACTICAL TRAINING

On 18 September, we held the Open4Skills results dissemination conference with 75 participants. We presented the project results and digital career guidance tools, discussing how to help young people make informed decisions about their future.

On 25 September, the “Time for Your Opportunity!” conference brought together 93 young people from more than 30 educational institutions. Through personal stories, discussions and practical workshops, we brought the Erasmus+ LAWAvailable 4.0 project to a close.

We delivered two non-formal education training sessions for youth workers, teachers and careers advisers—on 12 September in Bauska and on 19 September in Riga. We continued putting the Open4Skills results into practice, strengthening the skills of those who work with young people every day.

IN SCHOOLS—KNOWLEDGE, ENGAGEMENT AND PARTICIPATION

We visited four educational institutions and delivered the first STEM and civic participation activities in schools this academic year.

Together with the Riga Student Council, we launched the “Generation of Participation in Riga” project. We continue to create opportunities for young people to get involved, express their views and take the initiative in their schools.

THE YOUTH VOICE IN DECISION-MAKING

On 12 September, we held “Politics in a Different Light” and a live debate, making space for young people’s questions and conversations with representatives of political parties.

On 23 September, the organisation’s director, Gints Jankovskis, took part in Jānis Domburs’ programme “What’s Happening in Latvia?”, and that same week participated in the filming of programmes for RE:TV and Bauskas dzīve.

We continued working on cooperation memoranda with political parties, submitted proposals and took part in advisory councils on youth affairs.

We represented young people’s interests at both local and national level—with concrete proposals and involvement in discussions about decisions that affect young people.

COOPERATION WITH GEORGIA AND NEW LEARNING MATERIALS

From 3 to 10 September, we hosted Georgian partners in Latvia as part of the Latvia–Georgia cooperation project “SDG Connect Georgia”, supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

One of the project results is already available on our website—a learning module on the UN Sustainable Development Goals. A board game will be added very soon!

EXPERIENCE-SHARING AND COOPERATION IN LATVIA

On 25 September, representatives of the Preiļi–Līvāni partnership “KŪPĀ” visited us in Bauska for an experience-sharing visit. We shared our experience of engaging young people, implementing projects and securing funding. We are pleased that our work can also support the work of other communities!

On 24 September in Ozolnieki, we took part in the State Probation Service’s Engagement and Participation Forum, “People. Faith. Freedom.”, which focused on volunteering, trust and support for people.

NEW DIGITAL TOOLS

We launched our new website—www.laiksjauniesiem.lv! It brings together information about our work, projects, events and opportunities to get involved.

We also launched the “Do You Understand?” app—another initiative delivered by our team.

FOR THE COMMUNITY AND DIFFERENT GENERATIONS

We launched the “Active and Knowledgeable” senior citizens’ school project, creating new opportunities to learn, meet and take part in community life.

In Rītausmas, we held a collectors’ gathering and a children’s and young people’s day, with opportunities to meet and activities for different generations.

Meanwhile, our volunteers helped at three RFS matches, taking on responsibility and gaining practical experience.

NEW OPPORTUNITIES ARE ALREADY TAKING SHAPE

We organised participant selection for three Erasmus+ projects during the autumn season, as well as the selection of a European Solidarity Corps volunteer for four months of work in our organisation.

Alongside our daily activities, applications have been prepared and will be submitted for: Erasmus+ accreditation; Erasmus+ youth exchanges; a youth participation project; and two European Solidarity Corps activities.

AT THE END OF THE MONTH—THE START OF A NEW PARTNERSHIP

On 30 September, we will launch an Erasmus+ cooperation partnership project and meet partners from Lithuania and Portugal at the project kick-off meeting.

Behind each of these events are teamwork, preparation and people who invest their time and energy. Thank you to our young people, volunteers, colleagues, partners and supporters—this is what we have achieved together!

Young people are our PRESENT. And we continue to prove it through our actions!
