š š Today we went to Gori to visit the non-governmental organisation āGori Youth Centresā to find out how youth work is carried out in Gori, as well as to meet local young people and ESC volunteers who are currently volunteering in Georgia.
šÆ This experience was extremely valuable in gaining a deeper understanding of the obstacles Georgian young people face in their struggle for European values and democracy, as well as to hear how young people get involved in their daily lives and what activities they take part in.
šš» It is a real pleasure that the young people and organisational leaders I met here also champion democratic values, implementing various practices in their day-to-day work, for example, by holding regular general meetings and ensuring a democratic decision-making process within the organisation.
š Although this is the norm in Latvia, it is unfortunately not common practice in Georgia.
