More than 40 civilians from Latvia and Ukraine are taking part in an event aimed at strengthening mutual ties and inclusion by going on a trip around Zemgale.

October 6, 2025

šŸ’” šŸ™ŒšŸ» Together, we explored the ā€˜Pakāpiens’ Youth Centre in Jelgava and discussed youth work and opportunities for participation and collaboration in the Zemgale region. A special thank you goes to Oskars, the centre’s manager, for taking the time to meet us on his day off.

šŸ“Œ Afterwards, we visited Jelgava and Rundāle Palaces, learning about their history and marvelling at these architectural gems under the guidance of a tour guide.

šŸ’™ To round off the day, we took part in creative cultural activities at the Grenctāle Cultural Centre, led by its director, Jurgita Červinska. Thank you for the warm and lovely welcome – we really enjoyed it!

šŸ¾ Thank you to every participant on the trip – both young and old! The trip was a šŸ’Æ success for everyone, with both organisers and participants delighted!

The event is financially supported by the Society Integration Fund from funds allocated from the Latvian state budget.
