The ā€˜Time for Young People’ team will be at the LAMPA Conversation Festival!

June 28, 2026

šŸ—£ This year, our team will be travelling to Cēsis to take part in discussions on young people, the educational environment, inclusion, sport and youth work.

šŸ’” LAMPA is always a place to meet people from different fields, ask important questions and work together to find solutions that affect society even beyond the festival grounds.

šŸ“ 10 July, 13:00–14:00

ā€˜A Place for Everyone’ Stage

Discussion: ā€œMen in sport, women in youth work?ā€ (more information: https://festivalslampa.lv/lv/pasakums/3322)

šŸŽÆ In this discussion, we’ll talk about why women are more often involved in youth work, whilst boys and men are more commonly seen in the world of sport. The discussion will seek to explore how the sporting environment can serve as a bridge to greater engagement among young people, particularly boys, and how youth work can help strengthen young people’s social skills, participation and sense of belonging.

šŸ”µ The discussion will be moderated by Viktorija Tkačenko, with contributions from Raimonds Elbakjans, Randa Ķeņģe, Signe Tomsone, Kaspars Cipruss, Aleksandrs Samoilovs and Paula MaliÅ”evska, a youth worker at Laiks JaunieÅ”iem

šŸ“ 10 July, 8.00–9.00 pm

Education Stage

Interactive discussion: ā€œThe School Microclimate 2026: Are we creating an environment where young people can thrive?ā€ (including a live stream at https://festivalslampa.lv/lv/pasakums/3199)

šŸŽÆ This discussion will focus on what the microclimate in Latvian schools is really like and whether the educational environment helps both young people and teachers to thrive. The association ā€œLaiks JaunieÅ”iemā€ will share its experience and the findings from focus groups, which were gathered whilst researching young people’s needs, family relationships, social inclusion, learning difficulties and the need for support.

šŸ”µ Baiba Žiga, Madara Budova and Gints Jankovskis, Chair of the Board of the association ā€œLaiks JaunieÅ”iemā€, will take part in the discussion

šŸ¤šŸ» It is important for us to be part of these discussions, because young people’s wellbeing, an inclusive environment and meaningful participation are not merely project topics. They are part of everyday life for young people, families, teachers, youth workers and communities across Latvia.

šŸ˜‰ See you at LAMPĀ – come along, ask questions, share your experiences, and let’s discuss how to create an environment where young people can grow, get involved and feel heard.
